Twisted 51" x 63"
“Twisted" is a riveting testament to the fusion of playfulness and innovation in contemporary art. Through a masterful blend of acrylic half moons, this piece transcends mere canvas, becoming a conduit for an avant-garde narrative. Within each moon lies a trove of recycled toys, meticulously curated to replace the conventional dots of the classic game Twister. This juxtaposition of childhood relics against a modern backdrop sparks a dialogue on nostalgia, consumerism, and the ever-evolving nature of art itself. "Twisted" beckons viewers to traverse its intricate terrain, inviting them into a realm where imagination knows no bounds and every twist reveals a tapestry of hidden stories waiting to be uncovered.

I decided to use a "famous" Miami Icon that I see sprawled on a giant billboard every day on my way to my studio, "The Coppertone Girl", and figured, what was more reflective of Miami than that?
This piece was made entirely with recycled toys forgotten or lost by children found on those daily morning walks. It took quite some time but as soon as I had a decent amount of toys, this ToyBox was made, and - almost literally - became a piece of art born out of and representing those sandy Miami beaches.
For the little story behind the "Coppertone girl":
Joyce Ballantyne Brand drew the image of a puppy tugging at the bathing suit of a little girl in 1959. The artist's daughter, Cheri Brand Irwin was the model for that ad, and our own Jodie Foster played this little girl in the TV ad then. Even though Cheri once had the most famous "derriere" in America , it still caused some stir recently, when a mom reenacted the ad with her daughter...

Bear with sore Head
28″ x 20 X 5″
This piece is a reminder that of all of us had a “childhood security blanket”.
It was often a teddy bear that was washed so many times he showed the signs of time. It was the only thing that could make us feel better anywhere in the world when we felt like a bear with a sore head!

Caddy
23” x 11” x 5
This piece was inspired by the somewhat true statement that Americans have love affairs with cars.
“Caddy” is a colorful reminder of the time of play before there will be only driving cars on the roads and not on the floor of the living room.
America Let's play over the rainbow
60″ x 36″ x 4.75″
The stars are filled with heads of all the icons America created that filled our childhood with unforgettable memories and joy. The stripes are filled with the color of the rainbow which is a symbol of freedom and peace, tolerance and acceptance.
May The Force Be With You
24″ x 17″ x 5″
The fascination the adult has with the Star Wars saga has always struck me as a revelation that there is a child in each adult; it just needs to be allowed to break free once in a while.
The storm troopers arrangement is a reminder that our life is organized and controlled most of the time beyond our realization. It is good to be able to break free once in a while and let our heart, even the darkest “Vader” ones, take over our body and explore the force that is in us.
Pink Swan
9” x 9” x 3”
This piece was inspired by the 1950s ballerina cupcake holders found in a flea market. The beauty of this piece is the combination the antique inspiration along with the modern materials, making this piece something special.
