“Mountains and valleys surround the house where I was born. I grew up in fresh air, in a small Irish village, which I left at the age of eighteen. Stoneham saw me grow up, and now the city shapes me. Québec, city of my studies, taught me beauty, taught me art.”
“The elegance and femininity of woman’s bodies have always inspired me aesthetically, with their sensual and gracious curves. This is why they are so often in my paintings. Their long legs symbolize spiritual elevation. I express sensitivity and softness through a hazy atmosphere, because the latter entices introspection and consciousness. The background guides us towards imagination, evasion and a feeling of freedom, the horizon suggesting the line between sky and earth, between here and somewhere else. And you, the viewer, finish the story, which becomes your own.”
